The FABRE Consortium is organizing a Study Day on New techniques and recent experiences on special inspections of existing bridges and viaducts at the Botanical Garden of Padua on 9 February 2023.
The Study Day will focus on bridges, viaducts and tunnels: fundamental components for the operation of infrastructural networks, as they are indispensable for the effective movement of people and goods in territories characterized by complex orography, they are often subject to various natural hazards.
The obsolescence of these works and the poor state of maintenance, the degradation of the materials, the variation over time of the acting loads and traffic volumes, the effects of shortcomings and construction defects, represent the main factors that affect the quantification of the level of risk.
